During my time away from blogging and social media, I kept myself busy by making some new prints to add to our Etsy shop. I continued working on the self-compassion series introduced months prior and next week Saturday (Nov. 30th), these new posters will see the light of day! But before then, I thought it would be great to share a sneak peek of some of what I’ve been working on behind the scenes for the past 2-3 months.
This series was inspired by some of my previous work and reflects my ideas of what self-compassion means. The process allowed the opportunity to incorporate hand-lettered illustrations with software such as Photoshop and Illustrator. With my background in Graphic Design, this entire process was personally fulfilling in a multitude of ways. For starter, it’s been some time since I’ve done any digital work. For the past 2 years, I’ve solely been focused on improving my hand-lettering skills by using traditional mediums such as paper, pencil, micron pens, markers, color pencils and recently, watercolor. By combining handmade illustration with digital work, it helped reinforce my belief in my abilities and direction of my artwork. It also allowed the room to experiment and try new things while expanding on the knowledge I’ve gained over the years. As someone who experiences moments of feeling like an imposter, I can honestly say that I’m proud of this body of work I’ve created and hope you find encouragement in it.
As 2019 quickly comes to an end, my goal for the next upcoming weeks is to continue striving forward and stay consistent in building my business/brand from the ground up. The path of entrepreneurship has not been easy and there are still many trials and tribulations left to face. I’ve done my best in trying to overcome doubt, fear, and constant uncertainty and I will continue to put my best foot forward in the upcoming new year.
Each day, my mission is to consistently make great artwork that helps strengthen bonds, build relationships and makes your day a little bit brighter. That mission will never change! We are all part of a great collective that’s moving society forward and For Tha Masses is a brand dedicated to helping you speak your truth and be heard.
The shop will be reopened on Nov. 30th which is also Small Business Saturday and I look forward to your continued support and feedback on other products you would like to see in the future.
Thank you for joining me on this mission!
